Q195 Carbon Steel Coil & Sheet

Low-carbon steel coil to GB/T 700, often the cheapest way into hot-rolled coil

Q195 Carbon Steel Coil & Sheet

Q195 is a Chinese-standard low-carbon structural steel with a minimum yield of 195 MPa. It is softer and cheaper than Q235, presses and welds easily, and is the grade most often used for light fabricated goods. If you buy welded pipe, furniture tube, hardware or wire products in volume, the steel behind them is usually Q195 or its equivalent.

How to choose

Choose Q195 when cost per tonne drives the order and the part is not highly stressed. If the customer asks for a certified structural grade, use Q235B or S235JR instead.

FAQ

Why is Q195 cheaper than Q235B?
It has a lower minimum yield strength and a narrower alloy band, so mills roll it faster and with less alloy. That is the whole difference — the surface and dimensional quality can be identical.
Do you supply Q195 with a certificate?
Every shipment carries an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating chemical composition and mechanical properties per heat.
