A234 WPB Butt Weld Elbow

Seamless and welded fittings to ASTM A234 / ASME B16.9

A234 WPB is the standard carbon steel for butt weld fittings: 240 MPa minimum yield, 415–585 MPa tensile, matched to A106 and A53 pipe. The fittings are dimensioned to ASME B16.9 so they line up with any B16.9 pipe spool, and the ends are bevelled for direct welding. We supply 90°, 45° and 180° returns in long and short radius, plus tees, reducers and caps.

How to choose

Long radius elbows are the default — they cause less pressure drop and are cheaper than short radius. Short radius is used only where space is tight. For low-temperature service use A420 WPL6; for high yield, A234 WPHY.

Order & delivery

Lead time	15 – 30 days after deposit or L/C for mill-rolled material; stock sizes ship sooner.
Packing	Steel strapping, wooden pallets or crates, edge protection, custom shipping marks.
Payment	T/T with deposit, or L/C at sight. Terms are confirmed on the proforma invoice.
Minimum order	Normally one 20′ container per size; mixed sizes can be combined in one container.
Documents	Invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate.
Incoterms	FOB, CFR, CIF to your port. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, Intertek) arranged on request.

FAQ

Are the fittings seamless or welded?

Both, depending on size and wall thickness. Up to about 24″ we normally supply seamless; larger sizes are welded and 100 % radiographed on request. The offer states which you are buying.

Do you supply fittings with the pipe?

Yes — pipe and fittings from the same heat family can be shipped together with matching certificates, which simplifies the weld procedure qualification at your end.
